Sweatsuits or Bust

I heard that the whole matchy matchy sweatsuit trend is over. So does that mean we are back to wearing 20 year old shirts with holes where our nipples are and make our husbands think we have truly given up on ever looking sexy? (But its soooo comfy…) I still am a firm believer in the sweat set because I feel like in 5 minutes I can be comfy, let my stomach out and still look like I haven’t thrown in the towel on life. A few of my go-to’s from high to low:
The Frankie Shop: This in full transparency is my fave. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s chic to wear to work, the shoulder pads GIVE ME LIFE and the quality of the cotton is thick and feels like luxury. I have it in black and pink (worn the black to death). It’s made the rounds to fancy dinners, airport travel, and my pre-work out gear when I might be meeting someone a bit fancier. I noticed recently that this cotton one isn’t avail anymore but the sweater version is, so get. On. it. These sweats (and a ton of other Frankie Shop products) are currently on sale at SSENSE: shop HERE.
Gap: I have not shopped at the Gap in I can’t tell you how long, maybe since it was the only place I shipped as a teen when it was THE place to go. Yes, I have just dated myself, so now you know what band I was listening to: NSYNC, some Britany and of course, Aguilera.
Well, somehow I saw someone on IG and loved their pleather high waisted pants in silver and black so figured that adding a hot pink set couldn’t break the bank. I have zero regrets except for a future one when I wear it and spill something all over it, or Leo wipes his face on me which he always happens to do on my most stainable clothes. Is there a tide stick for snot mixed with cheese crumbs?
This set also happens to be on sale. Shop HERE.
Uncivilized: The woman who colors my hair, her hubs is BIG in the sneaker world and as part of his cult following makes the cutest sweatsuit sets. My pal Shannon always looks unputtogetherly together so the last time I was getting my roots died, she snuck me into the workshop and I got to take home some special stuff which might have sold out otherwise. The cotton is THICK and warm for those cold spring nights that are seemingly endless. I like the throwback graphics and can’t wait to collect more. These sell out all the time so likely if you see nothing avail, subscribe and wait. I promise it’s worth it.
This next one is a double whammy, because I found that I can wear Suzie to the airport, the beach, to sleep, and beyond. She makes the most luxurious of matching sets and I can’t get enough. It’s dangerous knowing her store is near me because I often go and stock up like I would eggs. The styles are classic, cozy, and will last forever.
Last but not least The Great. Worn in, felt like the college age but without the homelessness. I know the founders and they make the best stuff. I have had this set for a while with the only complaint being the I depend greatly on an elastic waistband and the the string attached just doesn’t hold up to children mawing me, so often times, I end up “pantsed.” Shop The Great HERE.
If I could live in any one of these for several days a week, I would and have zero regrets. With all the talk about work being too casual and “why can’t we go back to olden days,” I say NO, let the belly be released, save the corsets for the 20 somethings, and go ahead, get cozy.
