My Nightly Beauty Routine
Thanks so much for subscribing. My newsletter will be available to free subscribers for the rest of February, but please subscribe before the end of the month to keep reading.
My husband has reluctantly resigned himself to enduring my nightly beauty routine, which he claims takes a good 30 minutes, but I argue it's a solid 7. Now, let me clarify, my routine isn't one of those exhaustive 12-step skincare regimens that can drive you insane! No, it's all about the essentials for me – those precious moments of self-care that I can only indulge in once the kids are all tucked in and I can finally unwind in my favorite corner of the house. So, let's dive into it.
First things first, I start with brushing and flossing. I'm a big fan of Hello toothpaste because of its fluoride-free formula. Now, before you hit that unsubscribe button, let's talk about the fluoride debate. Trust me, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but with all the recent news highlighting the potential toxicity of fluoride and what constitutes safe levels, it's definitely a topic worth discussing. We can delve into this further in the comments if you're interested.
Moving on from the toothpaste saga, I have a confession to make – I use those convenient Plackers flossers. I know, I know, it's not the most environmentally friendly choice, but I read somewhere that regular floss can get tangled around turtles, and the thicker, healthier options tend to shred between my teeth like a scene from a horror movie. So, with my fervent commitment to recycling elsewhere in the house, I justify this guilty pleasure of mine.
After my dental hygiene routine, I cleanse my face with a luxurious Mandarin Melt Cleansing Balm that leaves my skin feeling both clean and moisturized. I'm all about pampering my skin without subjecting it to harsh and drying ingredients, unless, of course, I'm battling a pesky pimple. This balm, enriched with Omega 3s and Manuka Honey, is an absolute game-changer.
Following the cleanse, I reach for my Best Skin Ever Rose Oil. While it claims to function as both a cleanser and a moisturizer, I prefer to separate the two steps to ensure my skin is thoroughly cleansed before moisturizing. I apply this heavenly elixir to my face, neck, and even my arms because, let's be real, who doesn't love a delightful scent lingering around?
Next up on the agenda is a generous sweep of Latisse with my trusty Grande lash brush, followed by the ritualistic ingestion of my daily cocktail of 100 vitamins (don't worry, we'll save the details for another post). Then comes the WellBell for its supposed mythical powers of hair regrowth, a dose of sleep vitamins for a restful night, and finally, the pièce de résistance – the slightly overpriced but undeniably worth-the-hype Laneige Lip Mask.
So, there you have it! Wasn't too lengthy, was it? I might just have to enlist Gavin to time me during my next routine and see how accurate his estimation really is.
